Brief Introduction
In view of the wide spread of bacterial resistance and the side effects of existing drugs, the development of new anti-bacterial drug has become the consensus of the whole society. A key issue for the development of anti-bacterial drugs is how to discover new anti-bacterial compounds from hundreds of millions of compounds with diverse chemical structures. For now, it remains a challenging task.
With the aim to discover new antimicrobial compounds, we developed a web server called Anti-Bacteria Predictor for predicting anti-bacterial activity of given compounds by integrating a variety of high-throughput data. Anti-Bacteria Predictor is free and open to all users. The web server is rapid and accurate (Accuracy > 91% and AUC > 0.94), which enables us to screen tens of millions of compounds and discover new anti-bacterial agents. The web server can be applied to drug repositioning for anti-bacterial therapy by screening 1836 approved drugs.
